Year 7 STEM - Floating Gardens

Year 7's STEM project focuses on villages in Bangladesh where communities need to develop climate resilience to their changing weather patterns.

With the monsoon season lasting 6 months of the year, floating gardens provide a way for farmers to continue growing crops for food and to sell. Keeping chickens (for eggs as a source of protein) is also an important feature that needs to be incorporated!

Year 7 worked together in teams to design and build their own floating gardens. They were then put to the test to see if the floating gardens would survive 2 minutes of rainfall.
