Meet Our Head Girl

Congratulations to Holly in Year 8 for becoming our new Head Girl this year. As the new term begins in a matter of days, we thought it would be a wonderful opportunity to catch up with Holly!

What qualities do you think a successful Head Girl should have?

I feel that a successful Head Girl should have leadership, determination, kindness and confidence.

As our new Head Girl, what advice would you give to new children joining South Lee?

I would tell them to always work your hardest, make lots of friends and have fun!

What are your top three memories at South Lee so far? What made them so special?

  1. In Nursery, I remember the whole class and some of the teachers all playing together outside; it made me feel so happy and safe.

  2. One of my favourite memories is of me and my friends having so much fun at Hilltop (the best school trip ever) in the games room playing table tennis and chatting in our dorm rooms.

  3. Although lockdown was really tough for a lot of people, it was wonderful coming back to school as everyone was so excited to see their friends in person!

What is your favourite subject at school and why?

My favourite school subject is Art because I love to be creative and learn new and interesting techniques.

Describe yourself in three words:

What achievement are you most proud of?

When I completed my Apple training on the iPads and become an Apple Teacher.

Do you have any hidden talents or hobbies?

I do a lot of gymnastics for Bury St Edmunds Gymnastics Club. I also enjoy painting and drawing.

How do you like to spend your weekend?

I like to spend my weekends with my friends and doing gymnastics.

Who inspires you?

My parents - They have inspired me to become the person that I am today and who I will be in the future.

What has made you smile recently?

Jumping off the harbour wall with my friends whilst I was on holiday!

What is the best piece of advice you have ever been given?

Practice like you play and play like you practice.

If you could acquire a new skill in 10 minutes, what would it be?

To be able to speak fluently in Mandarin.
