Enhanced Curriculum
At South Lee, we foster independence and a love for learning from an early age, providing a range of challenges to help pupils grow and develop. Our curriculum is designed to be engaging and covers a variety of exciting topics, ensuring that every child has the opportunity to explore and discover new interests.
Pupils benefit from our enhanced curriculum. From Reception, children enjoy lessons in French, Spanish, Art, Music, Religious Education, Performing Arts, and Forest School. In addition, they take part in regular PE sessions and have the option of swimming, which is available for an additional charge.
We also offer individual music lessons and LAMDA (Drama) lessons, both of which are chargeable as part of our 'Beyond the Books' activities. Many children take the opportunity to learn an instrument, building on learning from their weekly curriculum lessons. There are plenty of opportunities for pupils to perform, including our Pre-Prep Nativity, which takes place in the school hall each December.
Our grounds offer an extended outdoor learning environment, and we actively encourage outdoor exploration. Each Pre-Prep class attends Forest School regularly; outdoor activities are an integral part of both our after-school programme and the wider curriculum.
In addition to this, we place a strong emphasis on encouraging good manners, respect, and courtesy. We provide excellent pastoral care, supporting pupils in building positive relationships with their peers and the adults around them.
