National Space Centre Trip

Year 5 and 8 had an out-of-this-world day at the National Space Centre learning about space travel and the life of an astronaut. They explored the properties of the protective suits worn on a space walk, including the absorbent ‘space nappies’ (or Maximum Absorption Garment as they are known in the trade) and the bullet proof layer to survive fast-travelling micrometeorites.

Wild Tutor Time

What a wild morning! Mrs Robertson captured the attention of classes from Year 3, 4 and 5 with tales from her recent trip to Kenya. The children learnt about the Maasai tribe, their homes, customs and culture, and the animals they live amongst. Jack and Asher had the opportunity to dress in a similar fashion to the Maasai warriors – minus the spears!

World Book Day 2020

South Lee kicked off World Book Day 2020 this morning with an inspiring assembly based on our students’ favourite books. The children then paraded round, showing off their wonderfully creative costumes based on their chosen book.

Where’s Wally? In the midst of many characters from Pre-Prep’s favourite books, there is a hiding Wally, Wenda and Wizard Whitebeard. Can you spot them all?

Continuing the Gruffalo theme on World Book Day, 3C have been working out fractions of numbers with the jelly beans that are left over from the green and purple warts!

What a sight to see on the afternoon of World Book Day! One of our Year 8 students has been preparing and practising for their senior school entrance interview with Mrs O’Sullivan.
