Justice Week 2020

As it is Justice Week 2020, Year 2 have been sorting a number of rules into categories – Home Rules, School Rules or Laws. The children worked in pairs, and had to give reasons for their placement. They decided that some rules could actually fit into more than one category, such as ‘You should share your toys’. Well done Year 2!

History

Year 3 have been creating their Viking shields in preparation for Viking day in March. Don’t they look amazing!

Art

Year 8 have been creating miniature Damien Hirst inspired works in response to their study of the YBA arts movement of the late 90s. The topic has provoked some interesting work and lively debate as to what truly constitutes Art in the contemporary post-modern era.

Lighting up a rainy Friday morning… Year 3 have continued their exploration on light sources, by testing different materials to discover whether they are opaque, translucent or transparent.

PE/Games

Year 6 have spent six weeks working on their gymnastics sequences. They have incorporated flight, counter balances, under, over and through actions plus smooth links within their routines. They should be very proud of their work as there are some very complicated and daring moves! Head over to our Facebook page to see the video!

South Lee School students had fun designing their own skills sports circuits on Tuesday as the weather rained off the usual outdoor sporting clubs. There were high levels of rugby and hockey skills on show! Well done Year 3 and 4!

Sporting Success

The U11 netball teams both played quadrangulars at Finborough School on Wednesday.

The opposition was tough, but the girls demonstrated great improvement as the afternoon progressed.

It was lovely to see great team spirit and a keenness to improve throughout the matches.

Well done to all players!
