news archives This Week in Early Years

The children have made 2019 calendars this week. They have really worked hard to get these done. They have used their hand prints for most of the months, and they look amazing. We do hope you like them.
We have also been singing a new months of the year song, along with our days of the week one. The children have a musical instrument while we sing them. A fun way to start every day!!

Another very exciting week in the Swan’s class. The children have been dressing up this week in preparations for the Christmas production, the cows, donkeys and chickens all look amazing as they join in with the songs and actions. The children continue to help Santa and the Elves in Santa’s workshop, wrapping presents etc. We have been reading lots of Christmas stories too. I think the favourite might be ‘Norman the Slug, who saved Christmas’ the children are joining in saying what might happen next. The children have also been very creative, finishing their Christmas cards, painting Father Christmas and baubles for the tree. Well done Everyone!

Our interactive screen has allowed the children to create some magical Xmas pictures….they have loved exploring the program. Creating a post office has encouraged the children to send Xmas cards to one another, posting them in our own class post box. Wrapping boxes has been great for solid shape recognition and development of fine motor skills. Writing their own name and school postcode on envelopes provided the perfect opportunity for the children to deliver letters to one another in our woods using labelled bags. Our lovely Form 8 girls painted their feet so that they could all make a reindeer footprint Xmas card.
