This week in Nursery it has been interactive book week. The Swans have been looking at a variety of authors and illustrations from different books. They have been learning about both fiction and non-fiction books whilst visiting the school library.
The Swans have also been sorting things into and talking about sequences, for example; they have been putting teddy’s into size order and seasons into the correct order.
The Cygnets have been reading ‘Harry and his Bucket Full of Dinosaurs’. They have made their own dinosaur headband by cutting out triangles. They have also worked together to paint a big dinosaur and made some dinosaur footprints.
The Fledglings have been looking at the story ‘Dear Zoo’. They have created a variety of different animal masks that we may find at the zoo using different craft materials. They have also been accessing a small play zoo that had a variety of different textures inside, such as play dough, and made some fantastic animal footprints.
The Kindergarten children have been looking at the characteristics of different dinosaurs. They have been drawing around dinosaur templates and copying some of the high frequency tricky words onto their bodies to support their learning. The children have been writing short descriptions of their favourite dinosaurs for other children to try and identify.
In Stave House the children have been busy creating simple 3 note tunes and playing them on Chime Bars – how amazing is that!
