RELIGION
South Lee is non-denominational and we welcome children of all faiths. However, the Christian faith is reflected in our assemblies and within the curriculum, though our pupils are taught about all the other major religions of the world. We encourage our pupils to be aware of their responsibilities to those of different faiths and cultural backgrounds.

In line with our view that all children should receive extra help whenever possible, the brief of the teachers working within this department is to provide additional support to pupils wherever they may be on the academic spectrum.
This may take the form of one to one teaching or small group work and is based upon the needs of each child, as identified through our programme of continual assessment.

FIELD TRIPS
To complement our class teaching, field trips are arranged at various points throughout the school year. Every year, pupils from the Prep school have the opportunity to stay at an activity centre, learning to meet challenges through teamwork and participation in a variety of physical activities.

South Lee prides itself on its catering. Believing that good eating habits can be formed early on in life, we make sure every child is offered a good, balanced diet at lunchtime. Meals are taken in two ‘family’ sittings, where staff join pupils at their tables.

GOVERNANCE OF THE SCHOOL
South Lee is registered as a charity and a company limited by guarantee. Any surplus income is re-invested in the school. The school is overseen by an elected Board of Governors, the majority of whom are either current parents or parents of pupils formerly at the school.

PARENT TEACHER ASSOCIATION
We have an active PTA and encourage all parents to participate in its works. It raises funds for many school projects and also helps to foster closer relations between the staff and parents.

AFTER SCHOOL CARE
Where a family has children in both Pre-prep and Prep, we make provision to look after the younger sibling until their other brothers and sisters have finished lessons.
