Christmas Lunch

Every Christmas term, South Lee produces a traditional Christmas lunch, with all the trimmings and all the merriments.

The pupils and teachers all wear fun Christmas hats. We listen to the festive Christmas music as we eat. Everybody gets into the festive spirit on this day. Mr. Waspe, our head chef, puts in a lot of effort and wakes up early to make our lunch enjoyable.

The PTA Christmas Fair

The PTA Christmas Fair occurs every year before the Christmas holidays. It is a chance to do your Christmas shopping!

There are some great stalls with a variety of gifts. Some include jewellery, toys, handbags and many other perfect gifts. There is also some delicious Christmas food: mince pies, cake, and sausage roles. So you can have break from shopping with a cup of coffee and a mince pie!

There are many games for the children to play: there is a lucky dip, a hat making stall and nail painting. The Year Eights are in charge of these stalls.

The Christmas Fair is a fun and relaxing place to do your Christmas shopping!

The Christmas Carol Service

Each Christmas, South Lee holds a Christmas Carol Service.

Each class in the Prep School sings. Our year 8 class also read extracts from the Christmas Story, as part of their RS curriculum.

It is a fantastic evening, where we appreciate the words spoken by Father Peter and enjoy the Prep School's enchanting voices.

Everyone sits on the traditional pews and admires the fantastic decoration inside the Bury St Edmunds Cathedral. The first song that is sung during the evening is, “Once in Royal David's City” and a soloist sings the first verse.

This is a traditional event that carries on, year after year. It is altogether an amazing experience, which is thoroughly enjoyed by everyone who attends it.
