Pre-Prep School Trips
Kindergarten visited the Owls sanctuary at Stonham barns. It was a very grey day. The children were shown many different species of birds from the large eagle owl to the tiniest little owl. They saw a flying demonstration. The children loved this trip - very enjoyable.
Year 2 went to Jimmy's Farm, for a Saxon trail. Each child was given a walking stick, which had to be decorated; they also built dens. Later on in the day, they walked through Pig Walk, Guinea Pig Village and Ferret World. Overall, a fantastic trip.
Year 1 visited Church Farm, a rare breeds' centre. The children rode on the back of a truck and had a tour round the farmyard. They also had a guided tour by the game keeper. The most popular animals were the tiny piglets. All the children found this trip extremely exciting.
Last, but not least, the Year 3's went on a fantastic trip to Walberswick beach where they did a beach study and drew everything that they saw.
They collected exciting beach objects and played in the sand before it was time to move on. They next visited Orford Castle, where they wandered round the different rooms having a guided tour. They were allowed to play for a while and then it was back to home after a long, exhausting but amazing day.
Hilltop
Every year, pupils in Years 4-8, have the chance to go to Hilltop.
Hilltop is an amazing weekend that is packed with fun activities and the thrilling big zipper that is used only by Years 6-8 because of its height. There are two bunkhouses, which are surrounded by forests. Another one of the most fun activities is a game called owls and mice. In this game, the group of pupils is split up into about 5 groups and one group is the owls and the rest are mice; it's a thrilling game of hide and seek tied in with the dark.

Molly Curtis says “Its fun, as you get a chance to do things that you don't do normally. Some people may find things harder than others, but you get through it with the support of your friends and teachers.”
The Peak District
Each year, the Year Sevens and Eights go on an adventurous and fun trip to the Peak District. They face four days full of many challenges.
The children's first challenge is to be able to cook for themselves; they get to
make their own menu and cook for their fellow pupils.
We also take the children on walks that are very enjoyable and we see some spectacular views. The pupils make their own packed lunch out of food provided. This helps them to learn how to care for themselves.
Each evening, the children are split into groups and are given challenges!
Usually it is to create an object, for example: a hat. As you can see, the
children enjoy this immensely.
There are many other fun and exciting activities to be done, and some educational trips. The children take a trip through a village and study its interesting history.
They also do a lot of geography work and work to improve their map skills. We
usually take a trip through some caverns, for example: the Blue John caverns.
Once back at school the pupils have to write a project about the Peak District, which includes nearly every school subject.
This is a challenging and fun trip, which the children have enjoyed every year.
