Special Lunches
South Lee also provides special lunches, mainly for extended projects to give us a breather from it and to see what kind of things people in the past had to go through or what they ate.
In Year 5 pupils have an Aztec lunch, which consists of dips and corn crisps, chilli con carni and many other spicy and amazing dishes. Also, when pupils study the home front and war they have a war lunch, which concludes with the things they had to eat.
We were told and shown that it wasn't much at all, but we had corned beef and a type of hash, which was surprisingly tasty. Molly says, “It was a good experience to see what it was like to be back at war, and to see what they had to eat.”
The Book Fair
The book fair is a couple of days of big tables filled with books of all kinds. There is fiction, non-fiction and recipes.
It is set in the foyer of South Lodge and sometimes in the Library. There are books for all ages.
Each class, in their English lesson, goes to the fair and looks at all the books on offer .
All of the pupils enjoy it. Harry said, 'This is my favourite day of the term!!!'
Alex S said, 'It is so good, I want it all the time.'
Antonia said, 'It brings out the good side of people.'
