South Lee Hockey and Football Season

In the three terms of a school year at South Lee, everyone is given the opportunity to play a range of sports and possibly represent the school in matches.

Hockey TeamHockey is open for both boys and girls at South Lee and is proud to boast an impressive reputation. Coaching is given to all level of abilities and the best are able to represent the school in matches. Every year we enter an IAPS Hockey tournament at Under 11 and Under 13 level. We finish highly ranked in these, which is quite an achievement, considering the size of the school and the schools we play against.

Football as South LeeFootball at South Lee is one of the most popular activities. Due to its popularity, chances to play in the school team are hard fought for. In football we are not quite as successful as hockey but still impressive considering the size of South Lee again.

There are captains for all sports, who come from the senior end of the school. The highest position is Sports Captain, which is currently jointly held by Laura Ferguson and Ben Williams. At Under 13 level, half colours and full colour ties are awarded for achievements. At the end of each term, best player and most improved player certificates are awarded, again to Under 13's. This gives the less gifted sports players something to work towards and win.

On top of this, there are also House competitions for all sports bar rugby.
