The Pre-Prep School Productions
Each Christmas and Easter, the Pre-Prep hold their annual productions.
At Christmas, the Kindergarten perform a nativity play. Years 1 and 3 sing Christmas songs and year 2 also perform a play.
Then, at Easter, the kindergarten and Year 2 sing songs and Years 1 and 3 perform a play.
The Year 3 plays are always interesting and funny. 'The kindergarten are really sweet' says Anthea.

The Prep School Productions
Each
year, the upper end of the Prep School put on a glorious production. These have
consisted of Sweeny Todd, Oliver and most recently Bugsy Malone.
The leading parts are often played by pupils in Years 6, 7 and 8. Year 5 play many supporting roles. 'It is interesting to learn about the different aspects of a play, such as stage lighting,' says Laura.
The plays are always a good chance for pupils to show off their great acting ability.
There is also a Year 4 production, which is also very impressive. The school has received great comments from the local community, who always come and watch.
Bugsy Malone
Every year, South Lee produces a play. This year, it was a play all about 1920's America: a play called Bugsy Malone. In the previous years at South Lee, we have done plays, such as: Oliver, Sweeney Todd, Rumpelstiltskin, and HMS Pinafore.
Bugsy Malone was one of the hardest plays, I have ever been in; I found it tough, and I imagined other people did too! However, the three productions were so close to being perfect, with everything going well back stage and not many people forgetting cues or lines. In the story, a man named Bugsy Malone helps a gang leader, Fat Sam, to beat Dandy Dan (another gang leader) using splurge guns and custard pies. He meets Blousey, a young singer, along the way and the ruthless Tallulah. He and Blousey become very close friends, but Tallulah tries to win Bugsy for herself!
It was a brilliant performance, and one which will be very memorable to everyone. Everyone gave it their all and it was a great success!
