PRE-PREP 4 - 8 YEARS
Pre-Prep school class sizes are small (a maximum of 18 pupils), and provide individual care and attention. The assistance of an ancillary helper in each class makes this possible.
For these younger children, we begin to stress the importance of reading, writing and mathematics, whilst at the same time developing their creative and physical skills.
The children are also encouraged to take an interest in, and develop an awareness of, the world around them.
Specialists in Music, IT, French and Physical Education support our excellent class teachers in the delivery of the curriculum. This is an important feature in Pre-Prep at South Lee and is something in which we are proud to invest.
Continual assessment of progress takes place and is communicated to parents in the form of oral and written reports; parents are also welcome to discuss their Child's progress with teachers at any time.
Homework - a small amount of homework is gradually introduced as the child gets older. Individual reading books are sent home every night and the school has a special programme designed to develop good spelling whilst taking account of individual needs.
