swoosh

The Lower School comprises of Year 4 & 5. This part of the school is a fun, busy and important step between pre-prep life and Upper School. Mr Steve Catchpole is Head of Lower School (s.catchpole1@southlee.co.uk) and oversees pupils’ pastoral and academic progress in liaison with class tutors and Mr Paul Borrows, Head of Assessment and Curriculum (p.borrows@southlee.co.uk).

Pupils in the Lower School have a weekly Lower School Assembly where they address a variety of issues and topics that are aimed to support, develop and inspire this age group of pupils.

All pupils in the Lower School are encouraged to try new things, work hard, develop their self-confidence and start to take more responsibility for their learning. Values such as kindness and friendship are instilled and pupils enjoy the busy days being taught for most of the time by their class teachers but also experiencing specialist teachers for particular subjects.
