THE NURSERY INCLUDING PARENT AND TODDLER

PARENT AND TODDLER (UP TO 2 YEARS)

This exists for children who are of pre-nursery age. We offer a variety of activities for them to experience with their parents. These activities are chosen to allow the children to explore their creative talents, develop coordination, discover the five senses and to solve problems. Nursery child making a sandcastle

OUR AIM
Is to provide a safe and happy environment where children can build with sand, create a work of art in dough, feel the sensation of paint between their hands, learn songs and find friends in books.

THE NURSERY (2 TO 4 YEARS)

The Nursery aims to give children the best possible start to their education. They are encouraged to develop at their own pace in a caring and happy atmosphere. The emphasis here is on learning through play and is structured so that children learn the fundamentals in preparation for full-time school.

There are two Nursery sessions each day with lunch available for those who require it. The classes are separated into two main age groups known as CYGNETS and SWANS.

Nursery is where the children are introduced to reading, writing and numeracy. Storytime is a daily favourite with the children, who are encouraged to express themselves and share with others.

The Nursery has its own library and comfortable corners where the children can look at books they have chosen.

Other activities include: cookery, art & craft, physical fun, music & movement, fun & games.

Each term, a different topic is chosen to provide a stimulating theme for a wide variety of activities in the Nursery.

All children participate in physical activities to develop co-ordination and individual fitness. In the Nursery, gymnastics and simple games are introduced. Bat and ball skills are also taught at a young age. The annual family activity morning brings an opportunity to reinforce the year's learning in a fun way in the fresh air.
