Teaching in IAPS Schools
Prep schools may prepare children for entry into independent senior schools or to move to local state schools. Aspirations are high, with a great commitment to the full realisation of the child's potential.

Much is demanded of teachers in IAPS schools, but the rewards are great. Professional development is encouraged, facilities are good and the school environment is both challenging and supportive. Some children will be extremely able; others may have special needs. Teaching groups are smaller than in the maintained sector.

Teachers with experience in the maintained sector are welcomed, as well as those seeking their first appointment. Because of the emphasis on specialist teaching, prep schools need subject teachers, and welcome both primary and secondary trained teachers.

There are good opportunities to take positions of responsibility in IAPS schools and for career advancement.

NQTs can complete their induction period in an IAPS school under a government approved scheme. IAPS Logo
