Aerial view of South Lee SchoolParents who show an interest in the school are asked to make an appointment to see the Headmaster. He will personally take you on a tour of the school, preferably with your child present. No children are admitted until personal contact has been made with the parents and the Head has met the child.

When considering applications for the school, we do not have a formal entrance examination. From age 4 onwards, children are invited to spend at least a day in school before a place is offered. This serves two purposes: firstly for us to assess the child’s suitability for South Lee School and secondly to give the child an opportunity (brief as it may be) to decide if they like our school and would feel comfortable here.

South Lee offers a number of scholarships. The School Secretary can provide you with more details.

Step-by-step process when applying:
  1. Read through this Website or a Prospectus,identifying questions you would like to ask when visiting the school.
  2. Telephone the Head’s Secretary to organise a tour of South Lee.
  3. Visit the school, preferably accompanied by your children.
  4. Arrange a date for him/her to attend an assessment day.
  5. Following the assessment day, discuss the school’s suitability for your child with the Head.
  6. Complete registration forms and arrange a start date.

DIRECTIONS
 From the A14, take the Bury St Edmunds East slip road and follow the sign A143 Haverhill / A134 Sudbury. Go straight over the next two roundabouts and turn left at the third, signposted South Lee School. At the fork in the road, keep left. The school is on the right.
